Our Services - Wood Pests |
Each year Termites alone cause more than $750 million in damage to homes and businesses nationwide-more than combined cost of fires, storms and earthquakes. The two most common types of termites are “dry wood” and “ground” or subterranean. Subterranean termites can cause about 95% of the termite related damage found in the United States. Termites have been able to survive for over 250 million years. Because of the highly structured nature of the colonies, termites are able to more efficiently adapt to changing environments.
Carpenter ants, unlike termites, don’t eat wood. They bore into it to make their homes and can cause considerable damage as they expand their nests. Because carpenter ants favor moist and decaying wood, their presence also suggests that your home already may have significant water leaks. Now is the time to get your house inspected for all wood destroying pests.
